I desire to celebrate the photography section of my website, by publishing a time-lapse video of a sunset. Well, actually it is a series made of … how many videos about sunsets? You will discover it in the next posts!
Sunsets and time-lapse
The following is a sort of introduction, before starting with the true series. It looks like and old video, recorded 6 months ago during a sunset, but let me explain something more. During winter 2015 I had fun creating some movies that transmit feelings while you admire the gorgeous sunset. Wonderful colors and fascinating clouds. I love sunsets! Time-lapse technique is very good-looking and it shows how colors change. It is easy to apply time-lapse effect, since a long video is recorded and then reproduced at high speed. Plus, the search and addition of an appropriate soundtrack is the cherry on top. I am not a professional movie director, but I am satisfied with the results.
Equipment: Canon EOS 1100D, Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM to capture the entire sky during sunset and a tripod. I suggest to point at an open area where a great portion of sky is visible, but even introducing silhouettes, buildings or other details in the scene could generate a nice effect! Clear sky shows different shades of colors while clouds introduce a 3D good-looking view.
